How it started

40+ years of experience, back to our roots

Defensive Tactics Academy e. K. brings more than 40 years of experience in law enforcement and private security. After years focused on 360-degree security consulting and professional training, we deliberately went "back to our roots" and refocused on what shaped us originally: K9 work, training, and the right gear for it.

Anyone who's spent decades working with police and service dogs quickly notices: most commercially available gear is either watered down for the mass market, or overpriced for professional use. So we started building our own gear — for our own dogs, our own training, our own standards. What began as personal use, we now handcraft for other handlers, K9 teams, and private dog owners.

Craftsmanship, Not Wholesale

Made in Germany. By hand. In-house.

Every collar, leash and harness that leaves our workshop was sewn in-house — not bought from a large factory and rebranded with our name. That's the difference between a shop that sells gear and a workshop that actually makes it.

Our harness is produced as genuine made-to-measure: you give us your dog's neck circumference, chest circumference and back length, and we build to fit. No guessing with standard sizes, no compromise on fit.

Quality You Can Verify

Not just claimed — tested

We don't rely on marketing promises. Every webbing width we use has been lab-certified for breaking strength and for skin/fur safety for both dog and handler. The actual figures — maximum tensile strength, buckle strength, snap load rating — are listed directly on every product, not buried in fine print.

Where it matters, we use proven hardware like Sprenger "ClicLock" closures instead of cheap no-name fittings.
